La causa d\u2019aquests problemes pot ser l\u2019establiment d\u2019uns h\u00e0bits incorrectes o dificultats en sincronitzar el ritme circadi\u00e0 de son-vig\u00edlia. En aquest segon cas es recomana un tractament farmacol\u00f2gic amb melatonina, sempre seguint les indicacions i el consell d\u2019un especialista.<br \/>\nEn qualsevol dels casos, per\u00f2, \u00e9s important establir rutines a l\u2019hora d\u2019anar a dormir per a que s\u2019estableixin uns h\u00e0bits correctes del son.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Es recomana que l\u2019habitaci\u00f3 on dorm el nen estigui a les fosques, silenciosa i amb una temperatura lleugerament m\u00e9s baixa que la resta de la casa (19-20\u00baC).<br \/>\n\u00b7 En casa de que tingui por, posar una llum petita a l\u2019habitaci\u00f3 o deixar el llum del passad\u00eds obert.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Establir una rutina curta i senzilla (seq\u00fc\u00e8ncia de 4-5 activitats) per anar a dormir, i que es duguin a terme di\u00e0riament i de manera sistem\u00e0tica.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Evitar activitats molt estimulants durant l\u2019estona pr\u00e8via a anar a dormir. En lloc d\u2019aix\u00f2, realitzar activitats tranquil\u00b7les com ara mirar un conte o escoltar m\u00fasica.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Realitzar activitats f\u00edsiques durant el dia per assegurar que el nen arribar\u00e0 cansat a l\u2019hora d\u2019anar a dormir.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Establir una associaci\u00f3 ferma entre el llit i la conducta de dormir. \u00c9s inadequat com a h\u00e0bit de son que el nen s\u2019acostumi a adormir-se al llit dels pares o al sof\u00e0 (per exemple), i despr\u00e9s els pares el portin adormit al seu llit.<br \/>\n\u00b7 No utilitzar el fet d\u2019anar a dormir com a c\u00e0stig (\u201cSi no et portes b\u00e9, anir\u00e0s a dormir\u201d).<br \/>\n\u00b7 L\u2019objectiu \u00e9s que s\u2019adormi sol al seu llit, \u00e9s a dir, que pugui passar de l\u2019estat de vig\u00edlia al son sense ajuda dels pares i al seu espai de dormir. Si el nen no sap adormir-se sol, en cas de despertar-se a mitja nit tamb\u00e9 necessitar\u00e0 el suport dels pares.<br \/>\n\u00b7 En el cas de que costi que es quedi sol i despert al seu llit, comen\u00e7ar oferint el suport de l\u2019adult i poc a poc anar retirant-lo. Per exemple, despr\u00e9s de les rutines pr\u00e8vies al dormir, quedar-se al seu costat donant-li la m\u00e0. Retirar-se un moment, dient-li que vas un moment a la cuina i que ara tornes. Al tornar, felicitar-lo i agrair-li que no t\u2019hagi reclamat. Poc a poc anar augmentant l\u2019estona en que marxes.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Es pot donar un nino al que estigui especialment vinculat per a que dormi amb ell i que l\u2019utilitzi exclusivament per a dormir. D\u2019aquesta manera, estem vinculant el nino a l\u2019activitat del son.<br \/>\n\u00b7 Cal ser consistent i comen\u00e7ar a aplicar les pautes indicades quan s\u2019estigui conven\u00e7ut de que es pot dur a terme sistem\u00e0ticament. De fet, aplicar-ho de manera aleat\u00f2ria o sense consist\u00e8ncia no \u00e9s en absolut efica\u00e7 i pot ser fins i tot contraindicat, ja que no s\u2019est\u00e0 transmetent un missatge clar al nen.<\/p>\n<p>Quan un nen no dorm b\u00e9 est\u00e0 m\u00e9s cansat durant les activitats di\u00fcrnes i, conseq\u00fcentment la seva capacitat atencional \u00e9s m\u00e9s baixa i est\u00e0 m\u00e9s irritable. Aquests aspectes poden afectar negativament en el seu proc\u00e9s d\u2019aprenentatge i en les seves relacions socials. D\u2019altra banda, les dificultats en el patr\u00f3 del son tamb\u00e9 comporten conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncies per als pares; estan m\u00e9s cansats, sorgeixen dubtes sobre la capacitat de crian\u00e7a i se senten insegurs.
